The ICA advances in the identification of cattle in the country

Bogotá, 28th of august 2014. So far in 2014, the Colombian Agricultural Institute, ICA, has identified more than 317,525 animals of bovine and buffalo specie across the country, 3 percent more than expected. This year is expected to continue the identification to complete the goal set by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

In Cesar, the ICA accompanies mango exporter in the conquest of the European market

Valledupar, 27th of august 2014. The ICA is accompanying the private initiative of entrepreneurs of Cesar that cultivate different varieties of mango and aspire to conquer the demanding taste of Europeans. In furtherance of this purpose, the general manager of the company toured “La Finca Pan de Azucar”, property located at 20 kilometers of Valledupar in which he reiterated the commitment of the institution to accompany the farmers through its various programs and strategies in the search more and better markets for domestic production and establish itself as the strategic partner of Colombian agribusiness.

Sheep producers may import semen and embryos from Argentina

Bogotá, 20th of august 2014. To meet the needs of sheep farmers in the country, the Colombian Agricultural Institute, ICA, authorized imports of semen and embryos from Argentina, as an alternative to improve the genetics of their animals. "The ICA after making the appropriate risk assessment, established the requirements to be fulfilled by Argentina for export to Colombia sheep genetic material, always looking to protect animal health in our country," said Luis Humberto Martinez Lacouture, CEO of ICA
