Colombian Agriculture and Livestock Institute, ICA, with resolution 3761 regulated dog and food bulk food in order to improve sanitary conditions for these products distribution in the country.

Fulfilling an important accomplishment for cattle farming in Antioquia Department, the Colombian Agriculture and Livestock Institute ICA, certified 22 plots in cattle farming good practices in bovine, swine meat and milk production, as well as 8 plots of sheep farms free of brucellosis and 13 poultry farms as biosafe.

Colombian Agriculture and Livestock Institute, ICA, certified in Risaralda the first three plots of swine food safety in the country, located in municipalities Balboa, Guática and Pereira.

Colombian Agriculture and Livestock Institute, ICA, after three years working with the community accomplished to start an interinstitutional project for renovation of 250 hectares of avocado affected by pests and diseases in order to improve phytosanitary, productive and commercialization aspects in this crop, in which 8.000 families depend on, in Carmen de Bolívar and Ovejas municipalities.

ICA general manager, Luis Fernando Caicedo Lince, emphasized that the products that enter the country without origin certification or without fulfilling ICA requirements in valid resolutions, could be re embarked, seized or destroyed in order to mitigate pests and diseases risks, mainly the exotic ones, since they are not reported in the country, or endemic diseases of official control that can be introduced by plants, animals and their products as well as biologicals and medicines of agriculture and livestock usage.
